Presented by the European Commission for the Control of Foot and Mouth Disease (EuFMD) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

Please select “ADD TO WAITLIST” to be notified if/when another session is offered.

This hybrid live-webinar and online course has been developed through a partnership of Animal Health Canada with the EuFMD, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Canadian Veterinary Medical Association and United States Department of Agriculture.

What will the course cover?

This course will provide you with the information you need to investigate a suspect case of foot and mouth disease, including disease recognition, laboratory sampling, outbreak investigation and biosecurity. It will also allow you to network with colleagues around Canada and the US and with international FMD experts.

What does it involve?

The course will involve approximately 12-26 hours of study. However, this study is self-directed, so you can complete the training at any convenient time during the six-week period, starting and stopping as you wish. You will need a computer/laptop/tablet device connected to the Internet in order to take part in the course. No special software is required.

At the end of the course, you will be asked to take an online assessment, and if this is completed successfully you will be awarded a certificate. This hybrid live-webinar and online course has been approved by the Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE) for 25.75 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize RACE approval.

EuFMD expert trainers will be available in an online discussion forum throughout the training course to answer questions and lead discussions on many aspects of FMD investigation and control.
